Thorn and Thistle Australian Shepherds is a purpose-driven kennel in southern Germany, breeding healthy, well-balanced Australian Shepherds from health-tested lines. Our dogs are raised in a home environment, with a focus on preserving the breed and supporting our puppy families for life.

Thorn & Thistle is a small, dedicated breeding kennel in the Allgäu region of southern Germany. We are proud members of the Australian Shepherd Club of Germany and adhere to the breeding regulations of the VDH and the FCI.
Our kennel is carefully monitored by our breeding association, CASD.
Our dogs are tested for health and temperament and shown at FCI exhibitions before being accepted into our breeding programme to ensure that only good quality animals enter the breeding stock.

"One Australian Shepherd was all it took" , for us to fall head over heels for the breed. Discovering the Australian Shepherd changed everything—their brilliance, devotion, and spirit made them impossible to resist.

Although I was raised with Border Collies and German Shepherds, I never truly felt they were the breed for me.
in 2021 i decided to get my first Australian Shepherd - Phoenix. Through Phoenix i truely fell in love with the breed. He is charming, sensitive, sweet, calm and crazy all in one. He is so intune with me that a mere look is all he needs to know what i need from him. And from that moment on, i knew i needed more.
